Yaakov Shwekey

Yaakov Shwekey began his musical journey as a celebrated member of the renowned Miami Boys Choir before launching his highly successful solo career in 2001. His debut album, "Shamati", produced by Yochi Briskman, was met with immediate and massive acclaim, permanently cementing his place in the industry with the breakout hit "Racheim". This initial momentum led to his 2008 landmark performance in Caesarea, where he debuted the duet "V'Hi She’amda" with Yonatan Razel. This critical moment affirmed his status, earning him the prestigious title of "Singer of the Decade" in the Kol Chai radio poll, with his song "Im Eshkachech" also securing a top spot.

Shwekey continued his expansion with albums like "Ad Bli Dai" (2009) and the double-feature release of "Libi BaMizrach" (2010), consistently proving his ability to deliver high-quality productions. His influence soon extended beyond the religious music market: following the release of his fifth album "Cry No More" (2012), his reach culminated in the 2013 "Shir LaChayalim" concert at Tel Aviv's Nokia Arena, which featured guest appearances from mainstream Israeli star Shlomi Shabat and IDF Chief Cantor Shai Abramson, showcasing his broad appeal.

Leveraging this domestic success, Shwekey focused increasingly on securing a global audience. Following releases like "Kolot" (2014) and "WE ARE A MIRACLE" (2016), his international strategy paid off spectacularly in 2018 with the release of the album "Musica," which soared to Platinum status within just three months. His prominence extends to the digital space, where he was recognized by YouTube in 2020 for achieving over 100,000 subscribers. Maintaining his position as an innovative artist, Shwekey released his 11th album "LeChaim" in 2021, followed by the complex 2022 concept album "ELEVATE"—a powerful, multi-medley tribute dedicated to the victims of the Meron disaster. Most recently, his artistic output continues with the sequential release of his latest series, beginning with the EP "Guf V'Neshama" (2024), followed by "Dor Tzameh L'Or" and the anticipated 2025 release "Shabbat Gan Eden."
